Frequently Asked Questions

  • Our tracking technology supports both daytime and nighttime tracking.

Nighttime tracking requires a white LED flashlight. See our companion hardware which includes a compact foldable rig and high-performance white LED flashlight.

  • Our tracking technology works for a variety of white LED flashlights; but be careful not to use a flashlight with “hot spots” in the center of the beam and may saturate the Smartphone camera and prevent the tracking from working properly.

  • Our tracking technology works best when held waist high from the ground, and it detects blood best within six feet.

  • No cellular network connection is required for the tracking feature … it will work anywhere in the world without network connection. The weather and map functions need network connection.

    • Check that you do not have your phone in Silent mode

    • Restart the App and Smartphone

    Camera Display not Working?

  • There are three sensitivity settings.

L (Low): Detects fresh blood with minimal false triggers

H (High): Detects fresh + darker / drying blood

S (Soil): Detects all blood, including in sand / dirt (may false trigger)

The App defaults to the High Sensitivity setting.

Soil Sensitivity is designed to detect older, dried, or faint blood that may be hard to see or mixed in to dirt or soil. Due to its high sensitivity it may cause some false triggers during tracking.

High Sensitivity has a less strict filter than Low sensitivity and is intended to detect fresh blood as well as darker shades of blood. It increases detection range but may occasionally false-trigger on red leaves or berries.

Low Sensitivity applies stricter filters to reduce false positives. It’s ideal for fresh blood and high-contrast tracking, offering more reliable alerts in cluttered environments.

Choose the setting that best fits your conditions — and switch anytime during your recovery.
